Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Athens Odyssey
Larry Moore: Eric Singleton - T
This kid is not afraid to work hard. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Not the strongest we have seen, but definitely strong enough to hold his own. Execution in the running game is something coaches have noticed about him. He blocks pretty well. Displays nice technique when blocking on pass plays. Keeps his balance and buys time for the quarterback. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Jim Nox: Eric Singleton - T
Raised to know the value of hard work. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Not the strongest we have seen, but definitely strong enough to hold his own. Run blocking is very different when facing college kids than the full-grown men in the pros. This kid has the skills to do the latter. He shows good instincts of where to turn defenders when pass blocking. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 2: Perth Bushrangers
Larry Moore: Charles Turner - DT
He has sufficient strength to not get bulllied on run plays. Here is a young man who is legitimately explosive. Defensive Tackles with this much speed get drafted early. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Jim Nox: Charles Turner - DT
While not the strongest kid we have seen, his strength is an asset. It gives him the platform to be a great player. There is a quickness to his step. He closes down in a hurry. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Pick 3: Chicago Chickles
Larry Moore: Craig Voss - DE
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Strong enough to flatten smaller blockers. And strong enough to not be flattened by the bigger ones. More than enough speed for the position. This will become evident as he develops. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Craig Voss - DE
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. Teams are looking for players who will not break contain. This young man is strong enough to stay on his feet against grown men on the offensive line. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. Do not fret. You need him, fans love him. Surefire pick.

Pick 4: Hartford Harpoon
Larry Moore: Dick Carr - DT
Teammates gravitate toward him, they follow his lead. Coaches love that about him. This kid puts in the work. Respected for his good behavior on the field. People always rave about speed. This young man has more than enough speed for the position. You do not need to run tack to get sacks. A great tackler. Consistent. Reacts intelligently on the field. He will get a great chance to earn the starting job. He fits what they are looking for. He is a solid player. Cannot go wrong here.

Jim Nox: Dick Carr - DT
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. Respected for his good behavior on the field. All you need it to be fast enough to get sacks. This kid is fast enough to get sacks. Well schooled in tackling. Good fundamentals. Nice instincts. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Pick 5: Detroit Demons
Larry Moore: Rosendo Whitfield - DT
A real leader! Raised to know the value of hard work. The guy has gets along with everyone. Good speed for a Defensive Tackle. He should get sacks. And you know who likes sacks? Everyone! Well, except offenses. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Jim Nox: Rosendo Whitfield - DT
A real leader! Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Has never been known for his speed. But he is pretty fast, and definitely fast enough to harass Quarterbacks up the middle. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Pick 6: Vienna Vanguard
Larry Moore: David Evans - LB
Is speedy enough to stay on the field in passing situations. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Jim Nox: David Evans - LB
Will never become a speed rush specialist, but has sufficient speed to become a prototype Defensive End. They need playmakers at this position. This is what they are getting here. Solid pick.

Pick 7: Rome Gladiators
Larry Moore: Antonio Mason - DE
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. He plays well with others. He understands there is a reason for each assignment on every play. The guy has gets along with everyone. Nice speed for a Defensive End. Enough to keep contain and get sacks. Solid technique on tackles. Take the blue-chip player. Do not worry about sexier picks. He fits what you need and the quality is there.

Jim Nox: Antonio Mason - DE
The guy has his head on straight. Raised to know the value of teamwork. The guy has gets along with everyone. More than enough speed for the position. This will become evident as he develops. He has a well developed tackling technique. Coaches like that. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Pick 8: Indianapolis
Larry Moore: Shane Oliphant - WR
Intangibles, leadership, what's not to love? Rarely drops the ball. Adjusts well to incoming tacklers, and can use his agility and balance to turn a short catch into a big play. He addresses a need for them.

Jim Nox: Dallas Barron - LB
Rarely do we call defensive linemen sideline to sideline defenders, but this kid is so fast the term almost applies. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.

Pick 9: Athens Odyssey
Larry Moore: Malcolm Porter - T
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. He is driven by the love of the sport. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. He has the strength to throw defenders around, and not just the linebackers. Clever young man as wellBlue-chip player. Exactly what they look for. Add a young talent to a roster thin at the position, a great fit.

Jim Nox: Felix Flowers - DE
Teammates love him. All he cares about is the team. He helps everyone succeed. Will never become a speed rush specialist, but has sufficient speed to become a prototype Defensive End. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Pick 10: Perth Bushrangers
Larry Moore: Andres Wilson - G
Raised to know the value of hard work. Driving up his value is his ability to block on run plays. Teams need kids who can hold their own against fully grown men. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Andres Wilson - G

Coaching Carousel Predictions.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
Dennis Turner - Defensive Coordinator - Chicago Chickles
Jason Bryant - Defensive Coordinator - Detroit Demons
Moises Hammons - Offensive Coordinator - Detroit Demons
Russell Jones - Offensive Coordinator - Vienna Vanguard
Bryan Case - Offensive Coordinator - Hartford Harpoon
Kenneth Murillo - Offensive Coordinator - Chicago Chickles
Samuel Robbins - Defensive Coordinator - Rome Gladiators
Mark Perdue - Defensive Coordinator - Indianapolis
Teodoro Holmes - Offensive Coordinator - Indianapolis
John Sells - Defensive Coordinator - Athens Odyssey

As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:

Mary Moore:
Mark Perdue leaves the to become the head coach for the Chicago Chickles.

Darren Francis:
I see Kenneth Murillo being promoted to head coach of the Chicago Chickles.

Jim Nox:
The Odyssey cannot hold on to John Sells. I would like to see him coach the Chicago Chickles.

Jeremy Piper:
Bryan Case is certainly on the move. That means Harpoon will need a new coordinator. As for where Case ends up? Well, I think Chicago Chickles is a good bet.
