Mary Moore : San Francisco Mustangs
Their win streak will not be broken in this game.

Jim Nox : San Francisco Mustangs
Believe me.

Darren Francis : Orlando Sharks
Looking at how the teams match up, logic entails that James Cabral - DT is hard to gameplan for. You blink for a second and he has taken over the game. A double digit win.

Defense dominates in Washington.

The Guardians D-Line is bedeviling opposing offenses so far this season with a total of 12 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 53 tackles in 5 games.

Byars cementing his status.

New Orleans has confirmed that August Byars - WR is among the favorites in his generation for the future hall of fame. Clearly, after 6 seasons in the league, playing at his level, it is hard to dispute. Hall of fame or not, Byars is a legend, not only in New Orleans, but nationally. The have made no comment on the subject before, but seem fairly satisfied with the whole thing.

Sanches points fingers after Kings loss.

Delbert Sanches was angry about the game against Edward Giles. Moreover, he denied that the players were at fault. The Kings WR said he felt they were outcoached in their latest game. Game of the Week: Orlando Sharks at Washington Guardians

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : Orlando Sharks
For this match up, you would be a fool not to think James Cabral - DT always has an impact. The offense will have to gameplan for him if they want to stand even the slightest chance.

Mary Moore : Orlando Sharks
Head coach Quintin Coombs does a great job getting them prepared every week. This week will be no different. Defensively he makes great adjustments.

Jim Nox : Orlando Sharks
In the context of this game, I think a good bet is that Calvin Paterson - DE is going to be a difference maker on the Sharks defense. It may come down to the wire though.

Darren Francis : Washington Guardians
I think their defense is really good. They are 1st in sacks with 21. They are 2nd in pass defense. They only give up 244.2 per game. They are 3rd in interceptions with 4. They are 3rd in the league in tackles for loss. They are 1st in the league pass average yards per rush. They are 2nd in forced fumbles. They might even blow them out.

Cannons lost. Cannons blames coaching.

Harsh words after the Cannons - Steven Perez game from Kenneth Porter. The Cannons Steven Perez pointed the fingers at the coaching staff, suggesting lackluster preparation was to blame for the loss. 'Surely, we lost, but we were playing well. I think this is a testament to our character and preparation' said the Kenneth Porter - T Cannons. Looking at the two rosters, a good bet is that Jeff Dunham - T is going to be a difference maker on the Mustangs offense.

Mary Moore : San Francisco Mustangs
Look for them to continue their winstreak.

Jim Nox : Las Vegas Kings
Looking at how the teams match up, I do not think there is any doubt that the offense will struggle to counter Franklin Cothran - SS. Watch out for him.

Darren Francis : Las Vegas Kings
The amount leadership on the Kings will really help them this week. You only need to look at guys like Arthur Alfred - LB and Delbert Sanches - WR to see the importance. Leadership like that helps you win games. This will be a great game to watch.

Creech delighted after Guardians victory.

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : San Francisco Mustangs
When they win here, people will take notice.

Mary Moore : San Francisco Mustangs
In the context of this game, you would be a fool not to think that the Mustangs will need to rely on Randy Munoz - RB for their offense. This is no reason to worry, he is great. Expect a great game.

Jim Nox : San Francisco Mustangs
They will win again this week. But it will be a close game.

Darren Francis : Atlanta
I may be biased here, but I think the are obviously the better team. This will either be wildly entertaining or a dull grind. I see no middle between the two.

They will increase their winstreak to two this week. I am really on the fence for this one, but I stand my prediction.

Mary Moore : New Orleans
A tough choice. I think it will be a close game.

Jim Nox : New Orleans
In this game, everything points to that offensive coordinators struggle with containing players like Stephen Newman - LB. Expect him to show up in a big way.

Darren Francis : Tampa Bay Cannons
I really like their defense. This will be an action-packed affair.

Tucker: The icon

A person familiar with the Legends says that the Legends are hoping to induct Jimmie Tucker into their hall of fame - eventually. This has the characteristics of a media stunt, but Legends is undeniably a legend. Not just locally, but nationally.

LB Richard Post (LA) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Los Angeles Legends drafted Richard Post #1 overall in the 2022 draft. The 6' 1" LB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Legends general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Post said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Los Angeles Legends
Larry Moore: Richard Post - LB
He is a well developed tackler, this is something teams look for. It saves a lot of time when the fundamentals are good. Can bull rush smaller Tight Ends and Fullbacks when blitzing. Coaches love this kind on their Linebackers. Offenses will need to keep tabs on him. He will close down fairly quickly if left unblocked. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Richard Post - LB
Finishes tackles well. In college, he dominated when bull rushing. He is strong enough that he can continue to do that in the pros. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Pick 2: San Francisco Mustangs
Larry Moore: Lawrence Lara - T
Even though this is a youngster right out of college, he is strong like a grown man. Driving up his value is his ability to block on run plays. Teams need kids who can hold their own against fully grown men. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Jim Nox: Lawrence Lara - T
Coaches and scouts love his strength. You cannot coach strength. You either have it or not, and this guy has it! This is a guy who is already a pretty good blocker in the run game. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Pick 3: Washington Guardians
Larry Moore: Frederick Cox - C
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Well liked in the locker room. This kid is already a pretty good blocker in the running game. He will only get better as he refines his technique. Quickly discerns the field, and where to go to to make a play. With this kid, this is a need pick they will not regret.

Jim Nox: Frederick Cox - C
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. Has nice technique when blocking on run plays. Keeps his leverage and finishes his blocks. Consistently makes good decisions on the field. You need him, just get him already.

Pick 4: Atlanta
Larry Moore: Leo Alvarado - WR
His hands are so good, you would not believe it. Snatches the ball out of the air right in front of defenders. Add more speed to the offense. Why would you not? Reacts instinctively to developments on the field. Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. This is a rock solid pick, and he fits what they are looking for. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.

Jim Nox: Leo Alvarado - WR
Guys with hands like him are a quarterback's best friend. He will make you look good regardless of how bad you throw. Pretty good straight line speed. Can run the deeper routes in the pros. Nice instincts. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Pick 5: New Orleans
Larry Moore: Mary Boothe - LB
A real leader! This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. It is all about fit here. Is there a guy at a position of need, worthy of a pick this high? The answer, obviously, is 'heck yeah'.

Jim Nox: Mary Boothe - LB
Coaches love the leadership skills in this kid. I want this kid on my team. He understands his role on the field, and how it fits in with what everyone else is doing. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Pick 6: Tampa Bay Cannons
Larry Moore: William Harrell - DE
Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Jim Nox: James Freeman - LB
No point in getting to the ball carrier if you cannot take him down. This kid tackles well. That is something teams are looking at. A kid who is faster than most linebackers. Really a hybrid kind of guy. Coming of the edge with that speed will give blockers fits. Blue-chip player. Exactly what they look for. Add a young talent to a roster thin at the position, a great fit.

Pick 7: Las Vegas Kings
Larry Moore: Don Burkett - T
Well liked in the locker room. Nice blocking skills on run plays. He will contribute to the running game. Reacts quickly and puts himself in a position to make a play. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Don Burkett - T
Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. This is a guy who is already a pretty good blocker in the run game. A really smart kid. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 8: Orlando Sharks
Larry Moore: John Payne - CB
Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: John Payne - CB
He addresses a need for them.

Pick 9: Los Angeles Legends
Larry Moore: Jason Sherwood - G
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Good strength gives him a foundation to build on. He has shown in college he can hold his own in pass blocking. He keeps good leverage and will only get better once the coaches get their hands on him. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Jim Nox: Thad Alvarado - G
Nice blocking skills on run plays. He will contribute to the running game. Can be relied upon to understand his role on any given play. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Pick 10: San Francisco Mustangs
Larry Moore: William Southern - DT
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Jim Nox: William Southern - DT
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
Gary Barajas - Defensive Coordinator - Las Vegas Kings
Carlos Kelly - Offensive Coordinator - Las Vegas Kings
Ted Nelson - Offensive Coordinator - San Francisco Mustangs
Bobby Manning - Defensive Coordinator - Tampa Bay Cannons
Mariano Buchanan - Defensive Coordinator - Washington Guardians
Donald Caron - Defensive Coordinator - Orlando Sharks
Ronnie Nichols - Defensive Coordinator - San Francisco Mustangs
Refugio Corbin - Offensive Coordinator - New Orleans

As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:

Mary Moore:
Refugio Corbin leaves the to become the head coach for the Washington Guardians.

Darren Francis:
I think the Sharks lose Donald Caron and I see him heading to Washington Guardians.

Jim Nox:
The Kings cannot hold on to Gary Barajas. I would like to see him coach the Washington Guardians.

Jeremy Piper:
Gary Barajas is certainly on the move. That means Kings will need a new coordinator. As for where Barajas ends up? Well, I think Washington Guardians is a good bet.
